Compare and Contrast

So pretty much the purpose of this project to get us thinking about the advantages and disadvantages of media in different forms or from different sources. My topic is on Beowulf the movie and the poem. I read and saw both, I personally liked the movie, which reason being because I thought the story line was better. The poem was written on Old English so there is slight difficulty when reading the poem. Like every action packed sy-fi it has a hero the bad guy and the hot girl, pretty match what every movie has except in this case its all CGI and the hot chick is the bad guy who is Angelina Julie, so yeah, the movie was about a 7, but its always good to watch on a boring night.

Media Issue Report/Research Project

This project was pretty interesting to say the least. Reason being was because of the topic, which was pornography. Awkwardly enough I actually learned a lot about the porn industry I didn't know before; such as porn makes more money than Hollywood, they produce 3 times as movies, and there is a such thing as straight gay actors. Which I find really disturbing smh. I thought my presentation was pretty well done, I added some 70s porn music to add effect to my report. The project was to allow us to do independent research about a topic of individual interest that goes beyond the textbook. so I thought last brings our the white elephant. Because lets be honest, everybody watched porn at least once.

Journal Project

For my CMM101 class our professor gave us an assignment into which we must first log in any media usage we utilize for a whole week. At first I thought it was going to become difficult until I realized that my life was very representative and my log sheet was pretty much an open book of my same life. The project was to help us become a more literate media consumer. Meaning help us understand how we use the media around us, and how it effects our daily lives. I enjoyed it, though the only tedious work was remembering to write something down after using it.

News Media Report III.

                                          

Ahh the Mother Ship of social media and my new media report. Facebook, if by now anyone doesn't know what facebook is, well then your pretty much, the 2% who doesn't. Facebook is a social network which allows you to meet new people, network, create a profile to show your identity, take pictures, videos, and invite people to games they will never accept. It's overly addictive to the modern generation and probably if was cigarettes the number one cause. of lung cancer. Don't believe me, As of 3rd October 2013, there are 500 million People use Facebook and more than 250 million people use Facebook from their mobile device.

New Media Report II.

My second new media report is a personal favorite which is xbox live. The only way to access xbox live would be first to have an xbox. Then have a pre paid subscription to xbox live to become a gold member. There are two types of members silver and gold. silver can access certain features but cannot access all like the gold can, which is connect and play with gamers around the world. Create party chats to converse with other gamers, not only can you play games but you can access other types of media with xbox live; such as facebook, twitter, skype, and much more. Xbox live is not as popular as playstation but I enjoy the gaming atmosphere better then playstation. This number can be compared to the most recent report from Sony on the PlayStation Network working with 110 million users and Microsoft reporting that they're in at 48 million users in Xbox Live. These numbers are not the same as "active users", a number which is much more difficult to grasp

New Media Report I.

For my first media report, it's on Instagram. Since the establishment of this app. we are now able to share our favorite experience or moment with our friends and family through a photo or small video. Your able to follow your friends, family, favorite celebrities, artist, group, and or political leader. Your also able to edit your picture or video to your likely to show the world through your filter. Just nine months after hitting 200 millionusers, Instagram now says 300 million people use its photo app every month, with 70% of them coming from outside the US. That makes Instagram officially bigger than Twitter, which had 284 million active users as of six weeks ago.

Welcome to my blog, my name is Felix. I'm a 24 year old college student pursing a degree in Digital Media Design. Currently on my working on my career goal; to become a game designer. What I plan on taking from the class is to better understand the modern day social society through media and how it effects us on a micro and macro level.  In short, I'm an open-minded mellow college student with a sense of humor and his head in the clouds. Daily lifestyle consist of weightlifting, gaming, producing, drawing, and living life, oh and food and sleep, pretty much what fun day is to me. I like too many things to count, and dislike little to remember. Overall I'm just your modern day Spider-Man.
